Want Some Fans? Try Blogging For A Change

February 19th, 2010

Feel the burn. Exercise your mind and your voice blogging your brains out today. Are you an expert on some subject or someone who cannot keep their opinion to themselves? Either way you may be the unpolished person that will take a shine to the wonderful world of blogging.

The internet will provide you with many locations to blog free. Examine several sites and find one you are comfortable with and start pounding on the keyboard. Some blog platforms provide more features than others but most are adequate for your purpose.

Draw upon your job, lifestyle, activities or interests to determine your subject. Do you have the critical advice that folks need to hear before they act on that electric guitar for sale? Write about the garage band you have been in for 20 years. Write about your career or your leisure activities. Your blogging can cover the open range you can corral a niche.

Your comical experience with an electric breast pump can also be informative. Describe your specific knowledge and share stories from other people. Remember that you can focus on your job knowledge and tie it to your life with just a little thought.

My neighbor has a great sense of fashion and will dispense what appears to be unlimited knowledge about accessorizing. I now know exactly which hat to wear, what belt goes with my shoes, and that there is a difference between my digital sport watch and a boating watch.

Funny pictures can make a serious subject easier to digest. Carefully selected images can be used to illustrate a point or reflect an innovative thought. Links that add information to a point you are making is a surefire way to use your words economically. You will never run out of usable pictures or links on the net. Go ahead and be creative.

Once you start blogging it is important to be consistent or you will lose readers. Deliver your product on a routine basis that your fans can depend on whether it is daily, weekly, or monthly. Post a hot topic question or opinion piece and your comment section will heat up.

You may find that you need to split your interests and think about more than one blog. I know a guy that publishes a blog supposedly written by his pet called, ‘Tails from the Doghouse’ and it has plenty of fans. Now go do the ‘write’ thing.
