Unleash Your WordPress Blog with the Latest Platform and Traffic Plugin

If you have been on the fence about installing a WordPress blog, it’s time to make a decision and start blogging.  WordPress’ new features unleash brand new powers to save your time and effort.

INSTALLING A BLOG

The fist thing you’ll want to do is to go to your site’s control panel, click the Fantastico icon, and let your server set up and install your blog.  Once the blog has been installed, you will want to go into your administrative panel, which is called a dashboard.  The dashboard allows you to update the blog software, add plugins, change the look of your blog and, of course, add content.

UPDATING THE BLOG SOFTWARE

Recent updates to the blogging software have allowed you to update the software with just a click within your dashboard, and also to search, review and install plugins directly from the administrative dashboard.  Plugins enhance your blog’s capabilities.

HOW TO ADJUST THE APPEARANCE OF YOUR BLOG

This plugin capability has been enhanced in the June 2009 WordPress update.  The new WordPress Version 2.8 offers an outstanding and super easy to use theme feature that is similar to the plugin feature.  You simply specify the type of theme that you want; for instance, a 2 column blue and gold theme, click search and then preview the free themes that are available.  Click the theme that you want and WordPress will install it for you right from your dashboard.  In the old days, you would have to look at different themes from the WordPress or other sites, download the theme, unzip it, then ftp it into your blog’s content area. This time consuming task has been simplified with the new WordPress release.

After your theme has been installed, you can go to the edit page function and modify the php pages if you want.  The process is much easier with WordPress’ new color-coded theme editor.  When you review PHP and stylesheet pages in the theme editor, the code is now numbered and colored, making the job thousands of times easier.

There are some awesome free themes available, including the magazine style themes that look like a professional publication. If you use these types of themes, you will be working with a plugin called Timthumb that will display your images as thumbnails on the front page and display larger versions within the blog post.  It is easy to work with this, but sometimes the documentation that comes with the WordPress theme provider is not very good.  At Not Guru, you can find a step-by-step tutorial, replete with screen shots, which show you how to work with magazine style WordPress themes.

RECENT TWEAKS BOOST YOUR BLOG’S SPEED

The new WordPress software gets even sweeter – they’ve tweaked the blogging platform so it runs a lot faster.

BLOGGING WILL IGNITE YOUR STAGNANT SITES

Installing a WordPress blog to your site is a great idea because if it is regularly updated, it will turn into a fantastic search engine traffic magnet.  The key is that the blog should be updated consistently. When it is, new posts generally show up in the search engines on the same day and often within hours.  There is a way to make your indexing process even faster, and it will not cost you one single penny.  What you do is install what is called the SEO blog plugin.  WordPress’ plugin installation feature makes installing the blog traffic plugin a snap. In just a few minutes and a couple of mouse clicks, the zip file will be uploaded from your computer hard drive, unpacked, and fully installed.  Once installed, the plugin will tweak your blog, have you install other traffic-pulling plugins, and optimize the search engine capabilities of your blog.  As you tweak your blog using the SEO blog software, you can see your SEO grade, like 80% or 90% optimized.  You will see a positive change in your blog’s performance once the SEO plugin is installed.

Because you will keep your web visitors happy with up-to-date content and the search engines constantly visiting your site, adding a blog is a powerful tool to add to your website.  Installing and maintaining a blog has never been easier, thanks to the new WordPress release.  Blog installation tips, computer help and other practical guides are provided daily at the Not Guru blog.

Review websites have some major benefits over other styles of affiliate websites.

Pre-Written Content

Your website content is already 90% complete!

As you are promoting an advertised product, all the details, benefits, & specifications are already available on the vendors site. Simply use this information & add your own comments to build your own content.

Remember you are reassuring the reader about a decision they want to make so your reviews should emphasize the products benefits. You can list the specifications but they should not be the primary focus of any review.

Website Design

Web design & structure is already predetermined as a review site, so building your site is easy using pre-configured templates or Word press plugins.

Just look for something that will allow you to earn money.

Get the Right Topic – There are so many things that you can write about. The fact of the matter is, you need to find the right topic. In order to make money online, choose a topic that you can write about and what people want to read about. This will allow you to get a following of daily or weekly readers.

Write out your Ideas First – Your research is going to be very important before you start writing. Look online and use other blogs as an example. See which topics people are flocking to, this will allow you to get the inside look. If you have a topic that you feel strongly about, then look into subtopics. This will give you a good idea ahead of time of how your blog can turn out. You do not want to run out of things to say too soon, because this can only drive away your readers.

What to Avoid – It is vital that you stay away from topics that do not have a lot of information. This is only going to set you up for disaster. If you have a topic that is full of information you will have an easy time writing. If you choose a limited topic, your blogging experience is going to be frustrating.

Choose a Writing Schedule – In order to get a decent following of readers you need to stay consistent with your writing output. If you have plenty to write about, then post your blog entries as often as you can, preferably on a daily basis. Even if you can’t post that frequently, make it a point to have a regular and predictable posting schedule so your readers know when to check your blog or not.

Pull in More Revenue – After you have a good following of readers, you can start looking to expand your blog. You can do this by posting advertisements onto your blog. Google AdSense will allow you to set up your blog and get advertisements that pull in revenue. You should also look at affiliate programs, which pay you to sell products for them to your visitors.
